With half of the World's population connected wirelessly everyday, some may ask why on Earth not all consumer gadgets comes standard with wireless connectivity? Read on and maybe we can tell you why...
You bought a Nikon camera. Maybe just recently. Or it could be a few months ago. And start taking pictures more frequent than you first thought. And suddenly you realise, hey... I want to share the pictures I took to Facebook or twitter and you realise I can't do that on my camera!
Don't worry... If your Nikon camera is one of the many supported models by adding an adapter, you can check out the Nikon Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1b;
At a size smaller than a 2 pence coin, you can really get wonders out of this adapter.
I've tested this with the NIKON 1 J3 and as you can see from the picture here, it's rather "intrusive" with the adapter sticking out of the body. However, chances are when you really need to use this adapter you wouldn't need to hold the camera body.

First thing First
You need to download and install the Nikon WMU (Wireless Mobile Utility) App.
Then, what this adapter does is basically connect wirelessly to the WMU app and you can;
1) View pictures on the camera via your smartphone.
2) Download pictures from the camera to your smartphone.
3) Control the camera so that you can take pictures wirelessly and set a self timer.
4) You can also embed your location to the photo taken wirelessly.

Setting Up
Once you have plugged in the adapter to the camera, simply go to |Menu|, then |Setup| and scroll down the page and you should find |Wireless Mobile Adapter|.
Then launch the Nikon WMU on your smartphone and switch on your wifi. You should now able to see the Nikon Wifi Network and simply connect it. Wah lahh.... you should see something like this;
That's it! You can start viewing your pictures on your camera, download and share it via your smartphone or take a selfie! :)

Does it expand your possibilities?
A big YES! One may argue why Nikon doesn't has this built in into the camera. Coming from a Marketing background, the answer might be simply cost and usability. Cost - reduced cost so that Nikon can sell at a price which may be more attractive. Usability - maybe at this day of age, people who buy a camera doesn't care about sharing the pictures via social media instantly. They buy smartphone for that. But once the novelty of smartphone depletes with the urge of really good picture quality, you may find taking pictures on a REAL CAMERA and still want to share the pictures instantly.
This is when you buy this. NIKON Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1b. It's a must...
